An experiment was done with two groups of students. They were divided into 2 classes with two lecturers and they were all given a 5 weeks course.
For Group A students, the lecturer stood in front of the class and taught for the full four weeks. They could just listen to his lecture and they could not ask questions for the four weeks.
For Group B students:
i. For the 1st week the lecturer stood in front of the class and taught. The students can ask questions any time.
ii. For the 2nd week lecturer asked the students to sit in a semi-circle with no desks and he stood in front of the class and taught.
iii. For the 3rd week he asked the class to sit in a full circle and he sat with the students and taught.
iv. For the 4th week lecturer again sat in the full circle but the class is held discussion style and lecturer can only ask the following questions:
a. Any other questions
b. Anyone has anything more to say or add
On the first day of the fifth week, both lecturers reported that they are both too busy that day and cannot come to class. Group A students all pack up after a few minutes and went home but Group B students sat in the full circle and continued their discussion.
I hope all leaders in our MLM business after reading this story will take a good hour and think about:
1/ How you are leading and teaching your organization.
2/ How leaders in your company who are more successful then you leading and teaching their organization.
1/ You must know what and how to teach.
2/ Leaders under you must know and learn what you are teaching.
3/ Leaders under you must teach what they have learnt to people under them.
1/ You cannot be the only teacher in your organization.
2/ You cannot be the only one doing everything in your group.
3/ This is not an ego trip.
4/ Believe your downlines. They are not as incompetent as you think. Eddy Chai.
