Great question. First of all, I live in Taipei, which is a fairly big city, and to drive from north Taipei to south Taipei will take me over an hour on most days. So when you mention 100 kilometers to me, I do not even consider it as out of town as 100kms with no traffic is only one hour drive.
But what do I do when I have a line who lives 200, 400 or 600 kilometers or more away? The frequency of my visit will depend on how committed the leader is. I have 1 very good committed line who lives in Kaohsiung (The biggest city in South Taiwan) which is over 400 kilometers from Taipei. I go there and spend 2 days every week for 6 months.
When I started my group in the Philippines I go to the Philippines for 1 week every month for 6 months. In India, I spend 20 days every month for 4 months and in that period of time my group sponsored over 60,000 distributors.
What do I do after that? I keep in touch by text messages, email and Skype. Thank you technology. I send support materials/CDs/DVDs/monthly update. My business is in over 20 countries and I try and visit 9 my major foreign group about once a year as they account for 80% of my International business. (A few years ago, I have cut back my travel so I do not visit my foreign group that often now.) For my local group, I visit them once a month. I expect them to visit me in Taipei too. I am a very good/hardworking upline. Anyway, I no longer consider MLM work.
