People who claim to have no time are in fact telling you that they are not interested in the business, because of something else. To spend time, attacking lack of time, is a waste of time! Look for the real reason behind what they are saying. They may have a misconception as to what the business is all about and think it is a pyramid scheme. They may think the business is not suitable for them, because they think it is door-to-door, or they do not understand the rewards in the marketing plan and therefore do not see why they must give up free time to do the business. Maybe they have no need for the business. Or then again, it may be their fear of failure or rejection. Maybe they have young children or sick parents at home that they have to consider. Maybe the reason is as simple as, not even having yet seen the marketing plan.
To start giving them a lecture and jumping to the wrong conclusion is the wrong approach. Try the following to solve this objection:
“I understand but since I am already here, would you give me half-an-hour of your time, to let me show you our marketing plan; can I do that for you?”
“Great, I used to think like you, because I also thought that MLM was a door-to-door business. Let me very quickly show you the wholesale side of the business. I think you will be excited about it too.”
“Over the years, I have come to realize that those who tell me they have no time, normally have reasons other than time. As a friend, I will be more then happy to hear your real concern and I want you to be frank with me. You will do that for me, won’t you?”
For people whose genuine concern is time, perhaps because they already have very busy lives, emphasize the royalty income part of the marketing plan and how eventually, because of the business, they can gain their freedom.
